GN NEW Chem Supports Overseas Project with Chemical Solution

More than an equipment delivery, this project demonstrates the coordinated capabilities of GN Solids Control and its subsidiary, GN New Chem Technology Co., Ltd., in providing integrated wastewater treatment solutions combining separation equipment, specialty chemicals, chemical dosing systems, process design and technical support.

Collaboration Between Equipment and Chemical Expertise

Efficient sludge dewatering depends not only on the mechanical performance of the centrifuge, but also on effective chemical conditioning before the sludge enters the separation equipment. Sludge properties, solids concentration, particle size, organic content, pH, salinity and polymer response can all significantly influence floc formation, separation efficiency, centrate quality and final cake dryness.

In this project, GN Solids Control provides the 14-inch decanter centrifuge as the core solid-liquid separation equipment, while GN New Chem supports the system with matched sludge-conditioning chemicals and application expertise. A chemical preparation and dosing system can be integrated with the centrifuge package to ensure accurate polymer make-down, controlled maturation and stable chemical dosing during operation.

This collaborative model allows the centrifuge, dosing equipment and treatment chemicals to be evaluated as one coordinated process rather than as separate products. The objective is to achieve stable sludge feeding, strong and shear-resistant floc formation, efficient solids capture, clearer centrate and reduced sludge volume for subsequent handling or disposal.

Chemical Programs Matched to Actual Operating Conditions

GN New Chem supplies a comprehensive range of wastewater treatment chemicals, including anionic, cationic and nonionic flocculants, inorganic and organic coagulants, sludge dewatering chemicals, oil-water separation agents, defoamers and antifoams, odor-control chemicals, decolorizing agents and heavy-metal removal chemicals.

For sludge dewatering applications, the selection of a suitable flocculant is particularly important. Polymer type, ionic charge, molecular weight, solution concentration, preparation quality, dosing point and mixing intensity must all be matched to the characteristics of the sludge and the operating conditions of the centrifuge.

GN New Chem can evaluate representative wastewater or sludge samples, conduct laboratory screening and compare different chemical programs before field application. Based on the test results, the technical team can recommend suitable product grades, preliminary dosage ranges, solution concentrations, dosing sequences and process-control parameters.

Where required, the chemical program can be further optimized during commissioning according to actual operating data, including feed flow rate, feed solids concentration, bowl speed, differential speed, torque, solids recovery, centrate clarity and cake dryness.

From Individual Products to an Integrated Solution

The value of cooperation between GN New Chem and GN Solids Control lies in the integration of chemical conditioning and mechanical separation. When chemicals and equipment are selected independently, an unsuitable polymer or dosing condition may result in weak flocs, poor solids recovery, turbid centrate, excessive chemical consumption or unstable centrifuge operation.

By combining chemical screening with equipment selection and process evaluation, GN can provide coordinated support covering:

  • Wastewater and sludge sample analysis;
  • Laboratory jar testing and chemical screening;
  • Selection of coagulants, flocculants and sludge-conditioning agents;
  • Polymer preparation and dosing system configuration;
  • Decanter centrifuge selection and operating-parameter optimization;
  • Process commissioning and operator guidance;
  • Follow-up adjustment based on actual treatment results.

This integrated approach helps customers improve solids capture, enhance sludge dewaterability, stabilize effluent quality, reduce chemical waste and control overall treatment and disposal costs.

Supporting a Wide Range of Wastewater Applications

GN wastewater treatment chemicals and separation equipment can be applied in municipal wastewater treatment plants, industrial wastewater facilities, oily wastewater treatment, refinery and petrochemical operations, oilfield wastewater projects, drilling-wastewater treatment, high-solids wastewater, sludge thickening and dewatering, and wastewater reuse systems.

Treatment requirements vary considerably among projects. For this reason, GN New Chem does not treat chemicals as standard commodities selected only by product name or price. Each recommendation is developed according to the wastewater composition, existing process, installed equipment, required outlet quality, operating constraints and lifecycle cost expectations.

The delivery of this 14-inch sludge dewatering decanter centrifuge once again highlights GN’s ability to combine the equipment-manufacturing strength of GN Solids Control with the chemical-development and application capabilities of GN New Chem.

Through coordinated equipment, chemicals, dosing systems and technical services, GN aims to provide overseas customers with practical, efficient and reliable wastewater treatment solutions—from initial sample testing and process design to equipment delivery, chemical supply, commissioning and long-term operational optimization.
