The laboratory is equipped with a comprehensive range of high-quality imported and domestically manufactured instruments and testing equipment. These facilities have been carefully selected to support the analysis of raw materials, evaluation of product quality, development of customized formulations, simulation of field conditions, and verification of chemical performance. Our laboratory capabilities cover a wide range of physical, chemical, and application-related parameters, including pH, density, viscosity, particle size, moisture content, solid content, surface and interfacial tension, emulsion stability, corrosion tendency, chemical compatibility, thermal stability, filtration performance, rheological properties, and separation efficiency. Depending on the application, our technical team can also conduct jar tests, demulsification tests, flocculation and sedimentation tests, oily sludge conditioning tests, drilling fluid performance evaluations, and oilfield chemical compatibility studies.

For wastewater treatment applications, the laboratory enables us to evaluate coagulants, flocculants, demulsifiers, defoamers, heavy-metal removal agents, phosphorus removal agents, and other specialized treatment chemicals under representative water-quality conditions. Through systematic testing, we can optimize product selection, dosage, addition sequence, pH conditions, mixing intensity, and settling time to achieve reliable treatment performance while controlling operating costs.
For oily sludge treatment, our laboratory supports the development and evaluation of demulsifiers, oil-sludge separation agents, cleaning agents, conditioning chemicals, and flocculants. By analyzing the characteristics of the oil, water, and solid phases, we can formulate targeted chemical programs to improve oil recovery, promote three-phase separation, reduce residual oil in solids, and enhance the overall efficiency of downstream treatment equipment.
The laboratory also provides professional testing capabilities for drilling fluid chemicals, including shale inhibitors, lubricants, fluid-loss reducers, viscosifiers, defoamers, plugging agents, and other functional additives. Products can be evaluated under different salinity, hardness, temperature, and contamination conditions to ensure that the recommended chemical program is compatible with the drilling fluid system and the actual operating environment.
In the field of oil and gas production, we can develop and assess demulsifiers, corrosion inhibitors, scale inhibitors, paraffin inhibitors, pour point depressants, viscosity reducers, biocides, foamers, defoamers, and other production chemicals. Our testing procedures are designed to support product selection for different crude oil properties, produced-water compositions, operating temperatures, and process requirements.
More importantly, the new laboratory will serve as a technical bridge between GN New Chem’s specialty chemicals and GN Solids Control’s equipment manufacturing capabilities. Before a solution is introduced to the field, chemicals can be evaluated together with the corresponding separation or treatment process. This allows our engineers to optimize not only the chemical formulation and dosage, but also equipment parameters, process conditions, and operating procedures.
