Oil & Gas Production Chemicals

Pour Point Depressant (GN DE-FLUD)

Overview

During crude oil production, gathering, and long-distance transportation, wax components in crude oil tend to crystallize and precipitate as temperature and pressure gradually decrease. These wax crystals may deposit on the inner surfaces of wellbores, pipelines, sucker rods, and surface gathering systems. They can also interact with resins, asphaltenes, sand, and other heavy components to form high-viscosity deposits or gel-like structures, resulting in reduced crude oil mobility, increased pipeline pressure drop, and, in severe cases, blockage of wells and flowlines.

GN DE-FLUD pour point depressant / wax inhibitor is specially developed for the production and transportation of high-wax crude oil. It effectively regulates the nucleation, growth, and aggregation of wax crystals, modifies wax crystal morphology, and inhibits the formation of continuous wax networks. As a result, it reduces crude oil pour point and apparent viscosity, improving low-temperature flowability and transportation efficiency.

Crude oil treated with this product demonstrates excellent shear stability and thermal stability, maintaining reliable performance under well lifting, pumping, pipeline transportation, heating, cooling, and reheating conditions. The product can also significantly reduce the secondary heating temperature required for treated crude oil, helping lower energy consumption and improve the operating economics of gathering and transportation systems.

With its unique nano-material characteristics, the product also provides dispersing, stripping, and carrying effects on congealed oil layers, wax deposits, and certain heavy-component deposits on pipeline inner walls. It works as a “pipeline scavenger,” helping slow deposit accumulation, reduce blockage risks, and support the long-term stable operation of wells, gathering pipelines, and surface processing facilities.

It is widely applied in medium to heavy crude systems and represents a key chemical solution for flow assurance in oilfield gathering and transportation systems.
